Welcome to the SB Blog Tour! Part 2: Pattern Notes
Welcome to Part 2 of our first ever heirloom sewing Blog Tour! If you are just joining the tour, take a peek over at our blog tour landing page for more information on this project. We are introducing the web to heirloom sewing techniques in a whole new way by taking you along with us as we sew this beautiful lacy camisole. This segment demonstrates the simple pattern drafting steps you can take to transform a basic tank-top pattern (our example is from Sleepwear Especially for You) into the pattern pieces you will need to construct this camisole. Kathy Barnard shows you that adjusting a pattern is not nearly as scary as it seems!
Don't forget to enter in our huge Blog Tour giveaway on yesterday's Part 1 post. Click here for more information!

Thank you Sew Beautiful for your wonderful Blog tour. Please enter me into your drawing. Love your site and all the ladies you chose to participate. Some I have visited often and others are new to me. This is a great and inspirational project that I am going to get right on. C
ReplyDeleteThis video was so very, very helpful ... I am in the process of getting ready to do some altering to, and lace shaping on, the shell and tank top patterns provided with the "Six Easy Patterns" book, including making the top and tank alterations/lace shaping/ribbon embroidery featured in Sew Beautiful Magazine Issue No. 87, 2003 -- "Beverly's Beauties" on page 68 -- it's been a while since I've altered a pattern and added lace shaping from a template at the same time ... thanks so much for this Blog tour!!! Have a lovely day!!!
ReplyDeleteKathy, excellent information. Thank you so much for being so creative in putting together this blog tour.

Well, I didn't realize that there wouldn't be a place during the comment posting process (selecting a profile, etc.) where I could enter my email address ... so, it didn't get posted with my comment above :-) Cyrena Downing gdowneng@bellsouth.net
ReplyDeleteWow! What a unique idea to provide a blog tour to encourage others to enjoy heirloom sewing. I stumbled on this site today looking for heirloom sewing techniques and viola your site appeared! It would be great to be a winner and receive the supplies that would assist in sewing heirloom creations. Thanks so much for your ingenuity and insight via the blog tour to share your knowledge.
